Fort Sandusky historical marker
Nine days after Pontiac and his allied forces begin the seige on Fort Detroit, Wyandot warriors gain entry to Fort Sandusky on the pretense of holding council with British forces. Once inside, they killed the fifteen man garrison, looting the fort and burning it to the ground. This was one among many British forts successfully taken in the wider uprising known as 'Pontiac's Rebellion', although many other nations were involved in this dispersed and decentralized uprising.
