Following a guns-drawn police raid of a cannabis shop at the Potlotek First Nation, members of various Mi'kmaq communities block highways across Nova Scotia. RCMP flee the Potlotek community and leave behind seven of their vehicles, which are subsequently smashed, urinated in and have their tires flattenned. In Sipekne’katik, Chief Michelle Glasgow explained, "It’s not about ‘weed shops’ being raided. It’s about the government asserting jurisdiction over our communities and over our unceded Mi’kmaq lands... If we allow this to continue, then we are allowing the assimilation of Mi’kmaq into a society that was meant to destroy us."
