Native People's Caravan arrives in Toronto
Sept. 30, 1974
Flier for the caravan's arrival in Toronto
Approximately 200 people gathered on Parliament Hill after a two week caravan from Vancouver to deliver demands to the Prime Minister. He refused to meet with them, instead sending the newly formed RCMP riot squad which caused violence. The caravan ended with an occupation of a warehouse used for some months as "Native Peoples Assembly".
